Comedian and actor Dave Coulier, best known for his role as Uncle Joey on the hit ‘90s sitcom Full House, has revealed he’s battling stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a type of blood cancer.
The beloved star broke the news during an interview on the US Today show, telling co-anchor Hoda Kotb that he was diagnosed five weeks ago.

Since then, Coulier has faced three surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy, joking: “I kind of look like a baby bird now, but it has been a rollercoaster ride, for sure.”
Coulier, 64, explained that he was diagnosed with B cell lymphoma, an aggressive form of the disease.
The actor recounted how he first discovered a lump in his groin, which he described as feeling like a “golf ball”, prompting him to seek medical advice.
“The onset of this growing lymphoma in my groin area was very quick so I said ‘Something’s not right, I have a golf ball down here’,” he told Kotb.
“And so we biopsed it, we took it out, and they said ‘You know, we wish we had better news for you, but you have B cell lymphoma’.”
After doctors confirmed the diagnosis, they urged him to begin chemotherapy right away.
“When they said ‘cancer,’ I was home alone,” Coulier said, recalling how when he later broke the news to his wife, Melissa, she told him to stop joking.
Following additional testing, Coulier received some relief — his bone marrow was clear, meaning the cancer hadn’t spread widely, raising the possibility of recovery to more than 90 percent.
Despite the intensity of his treatment, Coulier remains upbeat.
He’s completed one round of chemotherapy with another due this week, even preemptively shaving his head to better fit his hockey helmet and maintain his “aerodynamics on the ice”.
The actor and devoted hockey fan expects to be in full remission by February.
Coulier said he continued to stay active, sharing a message of hope and resilience with his fans as he faces the challenging road ahead.
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is the sixth most common cancer in Australia, accounting for about 90 per cent of lymphoma cases, according to the Cancer Council.
Coulier is best known for playing Joey Gladstone on the ABC sitcom Full House from 1987 through to its end in 1995 and then returned to the show for the Netflix sequel series Fuller House between 2016 and 2020.
