EXCLUSIVE: A Gavin and Stacey star opened up about an emotional encounter with Nessa star Ruth Jones who celebrated a milestone on the BBC set of the final episode

The Nessa star celebrated her 58th birthday as the cast filmed the final episode and got rather tearful on set. Scott McGlynn, who starred as one of Smithy's [Jame Corden] stags, spoke exclusively to the Daily Star.
Talking to us about his time on the show, the actor and skincare expert told us: "Ruth Jones celebrated her birthday with us all on set. On our last day, we celebrated with her, which was amazing, and she gave a beautiful speech.
"There were a lot of tears shed and she also made a lot of us tearful as well. She also shared her birthday cake with all of us, and it was delicious."
Scott also lifted the lid on what James Corden is really like to work with and said: "James, I've got to say he was so polite. He came around, shook everyone's hand, introduced himself, thanking everyone for being there, things like that.
"He was on his phone a whole lot. I was with him for four days and he was on his phone a lot, but a lot's going on."
The TV star loved working on the show and added "I actually am from Barry. I grew up and lived in Barry. My whole family lives there. So that was very important for me, just being a Barry boy, being in a very famous Barry show."
He also shared that there were a few funny moments on set that didn't make the final cut. Scott added: "There were a few fun bloopers which was hilarious we saw a lot in the wedding scene as the whole cast was there, that was funny to watch.."
Gavin and Stacey fans are still yapping about the final ever episode and all the behind-the-scenes antics from the New Year's Day special. Gavin and Stacey: A Fond Farewell, is an "uplifting and touching documentary special tells the story of one of Britain's best-loved sitcoms as it comes to an end after 17 years."
Gavin and Stacey: A Fond Farewell will air on BBC at 7pm on New Year's Day.
