The New York Giants are attempting to secure a much-needed win against the Indianapolis Colts, but they will do so without the help of defensive tackle Armon Watts. Watts has suffered an apparent leg injury.

After Watts got up, he crumbled to the ground and was grasping at his knee. He was carted off the field following the apparent injury.
Watts getting injured again is heartbreaking as the defensive lineman had just been activated off IR after missing nearly a month due to a shoulder injury. He was supposed to miss the remainder of the season, but the Giants activated him to provide some much-needed veteran depth on the line.
Though Watts will undergo more testing, the way in which he was grasping at his knee could mean that he suffered something significant. Should the leg injury prove to be an ACL tear, it could mean he will miss the entire 2025 season.
This is just speculation at this point. The good news is Watts was shown with his arm up in the air while being carted off to signify that he was OK.
Watts began his career with the Minnesota Vikings, where he was drafted in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL draft. Following a three-season stint, Watts was waived by the Vikings in 2022, and picked up by the Chicago Bears.
Watts spent one season with the Bears and was then signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023. Again, he would spend one season with the Steelers, and find his way to the New England Patriots in 2024.
Watts suffered an injury and was released by the Patriots on an injury settlement in early October. Following his release, he was signed by the Giants on October 15.
Watts has clearly been dealing with injury issues the past few seasons, and after missing several games due to his shoulder injury, he may now be dealing with something more significant. The Giants will provide more information as it comes.
The Giants are currently 2-13 on the season and own the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, they are currently handily beating the Colts. At the time of this writing, they are winning 21-6.
Should the Giants win on Sunday, the draft order will shuffle once again. It will be interesting to see who ends up with the top pick, but New York should end up with a top-five pick given their record.
