Giovanni Pernice has confirmed his reunion with Strictly Come Dancing professional Lauren Oakley following his exit from the BBC show.

Giovanni and Lauren will dance together at the annual Dancing With the Stars Weekends at Donahey’s in Plymouth at the end of April.

Announcing the news on Instagram on Wednesday, the professional dancer, 34, said: “Announcement! I’m absolutely thrilled to share that I’ll be joining the amazing team at @donaheys for some fabulous Dancing with the Stars Weekends this year!

“And to make it even better – I’ll be partnered with the fabulous @laurenmayoakley.

“We can’t wait to hit the dance floor with all of you, whether you’re stepping into your first dance class or already a seasoned dancer – come join us for an unforgettable weekend of fun and some serious dancing!

“It’s always such an incredible experience - we get to dance, teach, and perform for you! Let’s bring the passion, the energy, and of course, the fun! Don’t miss out – get ready to dance like never before!”

Fans were overjoyed with the news and rushed to the comments to share their messages of congratulations.

One said: “Glad to see the Dream Team are back together again for a Donahey’s weekend. The only stars for me.”

Another echoed: “You and Lauren are great together. All the best for 2025.”

And a third wrote: “Perfect partnership, Both totally amazing dancers.”

It comes after Giovanni left Strictly last year after his most recent partner, Amanda Abbington, alleged he was "abusive" during training.

The BBC launched a probe into the matter and six out of 17 complaints were sustained, although the investigation absolved Giovanni of any physical abuse accusations.

Giovanni has always denied the allegations against him, asserting that, while he is a "strict teacher", claims of bullying are unjustified.

He opened up to the Sunday Mirror about his struggles, saying: "I'm not going to lie, there were dark moments in terms of, you know, this is finished, this is the end of my career.

“That was one of my down moments. Sorry for my language but 2024 can f**k off. I've been looking forward to seeing the back of it."

He went on to join the Italian version of Strictly, Ballando con le Stelle and won his first series with Italian actress Bianca Guaccero, who he is now dating.

Meanwhile, Giovanni is back on our screens in Channel 4's Celebrity Hunted with Kai Widdrington.
