Ross King, GMB's showbiz reporter, has confessed to being "so scared" as he faces the threat of the Los Angeles wildfires edging closer to his home, pushing him to contemplate leaving his abode.

The Hollywood Hills have been given evacuation directives in the face of the raging infernos obliterating large expanses of Los Angeles, with legendary actor Dick Van Dyke having to be carried away from his home.

From his home in LA, Ross reached out to Good Morning Britain presenters Ranvir Singh and Ed Balls through a video call to convey his grim reality. He expressed: "We're under evacuation orders at the moment.

"They're not mandatory, but I tell you, it's such a weird feeling when you're packing up the car. You know we're getting everything ready."

He recounted the profound distress over the potential last glimpse of his residence: "You go round the house and you take photographs and you're thinking 'this might be the last time you actually see the house,' and that's why your heart breaks when you see so many homes, you know we're talking about thousands of structures gone."

The wildfire plight has struck a chord personally, as Ross revealed: "I've got friends in Malibu who lost their house on a beach, three other people I know have completely lost their homes and when you get that feeling it is one of the weirdest and one of the scariest things that I've gone through!"

He expressed shock at the disaster, stating he had never seen anything so destructive in his 25 years living in that part of America.

He praised the firefighters, saying: "I've never known anything like it in my 25 years here in Los Angeles, and when you look out there and see these firefighters doing the most unbelievable job," reports the Mirror.

"We've been so fortunate that the winds haven't been too bad in this area. The helicopters could get in, and they could drop a load of water and hopefully put out the majority of the fire that is going on at the moment. But it really is, it's so scary!" The blaze has caused chaos, affecting many locals, including a number of celebrities living nearby.

Recent updates have also revealed Billy Crystal and Paris Hilton as celebrities suffering losses due to the wildfires. Furthermore, actor James Woods was visibly moved on CNN, describing the heartbreak of his Pacific Palisades home falling victim to the flames.
