The news doing rounds that Google is integrating its two main offerings into each other. The tech giant is apparently aiming to combine Android and Chrome OS to provide strong and integrated platform. While the company has not stated officially anything on this, there are sources that are confident that the company is indeed proceeding to transform Chrome OS to Android, which is a multi-year project. This is something that Google is planning to do in order to counter Apple’s iPad. However, they have not clearly mentioned as to what they will do with its Chrome OS and how it is going to overthrow the iPad market controlled by Apple.
When it comes to portable computing two things got stuck in our mind- Apple’s iPad and Google’s Chromebook. But both are different in their functions, we can’t ignore that iPads dominate the others as it was developed in Apple’s iOS. When it comes to performance the iPad stands tall and may be this is why Google decided to merge in its Chrome OS with Android and is coaxing the powerful ChromeBook.
The merger is a long-term project and it’s not happening anytime soon. But it seems now is the time Google planning to combine the best of both worlds-Android and Chrome OS.
