Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton Have This Oscar Winner To Thank for Their First Kiss

Gwen Stefani shared throwback photos of a very romantic night in her history with Blake Shelton on Instagram and fans are losing their minds over the Hallmark-esque Halloween night in 2015. If you don’t know, that special evening nine years ago was the first time the musical couple first kissed. 

The snapshots show the 55-year-old singer dressed as a cowgirl with blood dripping down her face and body. (You can see the photos here.) We’re not exactly sure what Shelton is dressed as, but he was wearing a Wienerschnitzel baseball cap and a plaid shirt under a striped shirt — it’s confusing. In the caption, Stefani shared lyrics from what appears to be a new song.

“met u in October i had nothing to lose/dressed up like a country girl i knew you’d approve/knew i had to kiss you on the Halloween moon… ♡ gx,” she wrote while also singing those words in the final slide of the carousel. The magical night began at George Clooney’s Casamigos Halloween Party in Beverly Hills and carried over to Jared Leto‘s place for a private bash later in the evening, according to Entertainment Tonight. Two Oscar winners had an indirect hand in their hookup!

After partying with Leonardo DiCaprio, Paris Hilton, and Jessica Alba, the duo left the party together holding hands — their first public PDA. “Blake and Gwen are going through similar situations,” a source close to Shelton revealed to People in October 2015. “They have spent time together and have drawn support from each other.” Shelton and Stefani confirmed their dating situation just a month later, and fans know that this story has a happy ending, too.

The adorable couple first met on The Voice in April 2014, but they were both married to other people at the time. Stefani filed for divorce from Gavin Rossdale in August 2015 after his alleged affair with their nanny. Shelton and Miranda Lambert announced their split in July 2015. The timing couldn’t have been better as they both navigated through their broken hearts and heard each other.

“The thing about Blake is that you’ll never get through a day without laughing,” Stefani gushed about her now-husband on the Oct. 2 episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show.  “You know what I mean? Which is just— it doesn’t even matter like what’s going on. The guy has so much patience, and so much kindness in his heart. It just makes you happier every single day.”
