Henry Cavill is officially a father.
The Man of Steel star has welcomed his first child with his girlfriend, Hollywood executive Natalie Viscuso, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Details about the child’s birthdate, name or gender have not yet been revealed. The news comes after the couple was spotted pushing a stroller around on Saturday in Australia where Cavill is currently filming Amazon MGM’s live-action Voltron film.
Cavill first confirmed that Viscuso was expecting their first child at The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare premiere in New York in April. “I’m very excited about it,” he told Access Hollywood. “Natalie and I are both very excited. I’m sure you’ll see much more of that.” After being asked if his co-star Henry Golding inspired him to have a child of his own, he said, “I mean, he didn’t inspire me to do that. My parents did.”
The actor discussed the potential of becoming a father ahead of his first born’s arrival during a November 2017 interview with Men’s Health. At the time, Cavill said “it’s starting to get quite late” for him to have children, though he still wanted to “be a fit and healthy dad” when the time came.
“You know, if I ever have kids one day, I want to be the dad who’s running round after them,” he said. “And if I do have kids, I want to be a fit and healthy dad, not hobbling round like, ‘OK, I’m just going to catch a breather.’ Yeah, I’m going to take care of my body — look good, but not smash it.”
Cavill and Viscuso, the vice president of Vertigo Entertainment, debuted their relationship on Instagram in April 2021. As a Hollywood executive, Viscuso previously worked for Legendary Entertainment, which produced some of Cavill’s projects, including Man of Steel and Enola Holmes.
