Ali, who starred as Becca Dean in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks from 2001 until 2007, has been opening up about the effect of dealing with stage two breast cancer. She was recently diagnosed with the condition, but catching it early, the TV star has had more options to treat the condition.
Giving a positive update for fans, Ali beamed with smiles as she gave the happy news. "I got to ring (the tiny little bell I stole from my kid's music box as they don't do the [bell] thing here in Ireland) after five months of chemotherapy," she wrote.

"I'm still halfway through this last cycle, so much still to process on every level," she added in the post that she uploaded to her social media. She then went on to give some insight into how the treatment - and in particular, chemotherapy - has helped her fight against the disease.
"Chemo is major," she said, "the oncology nursing team at the Dunmanway CUH are INCREDIBLE, I said to them as I left. It's not that I never want to see them again because I love them all so much."
She also went on to have a positive mindset as she looked forward to the future, when she and the nurses who have treated her can "have a glass of prosecco" and help to raise funds to put more money into researching breast cancer. She finished off her touching tribute by sending love to all and best wishes to those who are going through similar situations.
"For anyone going through this, you think the end will never come, and then through the fog - the goalposts appear," she insisted. "You are not alone; thank you all so, so much. I read every kind word of support and it honestly gets me through," she added before signing off with a slew of kisses and heart emojis.
Fans of the star were quick to gush over the star in her new update, welcoming the news with open arms. As well as this, some of Ali celeb pals also joined in congratulating the soap star for her good work so far, including the likes of Lizzie Cundy and Giovanna Fletcher.
Ali upped sticks earlier this year and moved over to the west coast of Ireland, together with husband David O'Mahony. The couple share two children, with hubby David making an appearance in the video which announced her huge health news.
Hollyoaks star Ali was diagnosed with the condition back in June, and only revealed that she had the disease in September. The star, who was on the likes of Hollyoaks and The Bill, went into chemotherapy in July, shortly after her diagnosis, finally finishing the treatment five months later in a speedy treatment.
