Geoffrey Deuel, best known for his roles in The Young and the Restless and Chisum, has died aged 81.
The news was announced via an obituary posted by EverLoved.com, as well as his wife, Jacqueline Deuel, who told The Hollywood Reporter that her husband died in hospice care in Florida following a battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

She also posted the news to the actor's Facebook account, telling fans, "At midnight last night Geoffrey passed away and is with Peter. God took my knight in shining armour gently."
Geoffrey is the younger brother of renowned actor Peter Deuel, who was known for his role as Hannibal Heyes in Alias Smith and Jones. Peter died on December 31, 1971 aged just 31.

"Jacqueline, I can't imagine the sadness and sorrow you must be feeling ," one wrote.
"We all loved and cared for Geoff very much. You are a wonderful person, blessed to have such a kind, gentle, loving soul, in your life. Please know we are here for you."
"So sorry to hear the news, Jackie. I have known him going back to the '50's. Geoff was a legend and will be missed," another said.
His obituary read, "Geoffrey Deuel lived a prosperous life distinguished by his notable accomplishments, the love he gave, and the love he received from those around him.

"His kindness, his significant contributions to the acting world, and his caring personality will forever echo in the hearts of the many lives he touched. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing that his legacy will forever remain alive and cherished."
Deuel began his career in the 1966 military TV drama Twelve O'Clock High, and further appeared in The Monkees, The Invaders, Mod Squad, Occasional Wife, and an episode of The Name of the Game, starring alongside his brother.
His breakout role came in the form of 1970's film Chisum, where he starred as Billy "The Kid" Bonney opposite John Wayne.
He continued to act until 2001, with his last role being in the film 108 Stitches.
