Actress Jorgie Porter, who is best known for playing Hollyoaks' Theresa McQueen, recently gave birth to her third child and has explained the reason behind her unique name choice
Jorgie Porter discusses struggles of juggling parenting with workHollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter's new baby has a very unique name.
The 37-year-old is adjusting to life with a newborn after welcoming her daughter, Peony Porter Piotrowski, via caesarean section last month. The soap star, known for her role as Theresa McQueen since 2008, is now a doting mum to the baby girl and her two older brothers, Forest, two, and Alfie, ten, who is the son of her fiancé Ollie Piotrowski.
Jorgie and her fiancé Ollie, who popped the question at Scotland's Gleneagles Hotel in 2021, clearly had a theme in mind when it came to naming their children. Jorgie revealed that she had been keeping Peony's name a secret for years, which wasn't an easy task.
"We'd not heard of anyone with the name Peony and I love the flowers, they're so beautiful," she said. "But we were literally desperate to tell people her name before someone else had a baby and chose it before us! We didn't give her a middle name because she's Peony Porter Piotrowski which is already quite a lot for a kid to say, isn't it?"
Jorgie's mum, affectionately known as "Grannie Ju Ju", is already smitten with the new arrival, who was born at 10.40am on December 10. The Hollyoaks star described her pregnancy as feeling like it lasted "100 years".
She told OK!: "Honestly, it was the longest time," she confessed. "Margot Robbie had her baby about a week after she announced her pregnancy – I was pregnant for what felt like 100 years!"
She added: "The trouble was that my bump popped really early so I couldn't hide it. By the end I'd wake up every day and think, 'Yup, I'm still a whale, I'm not getting away from this.' So it was harder this time, but I felt like I really should enjoy it more and milk it."
"So if I randomly wanted to lie down, I'd lie down, I just didn't care what other people thought. I just wanted to enjoy it," reports the Mirror.
Jorgie says there are zero plans to have any more children - she's already thinking about what might come next for her work-wise. She joined the cast of Hollyoaks aged just 20, but says she's more "obsessed" with the show today than she's ever been.
"I love working, I've been doing it from such a young age, and I did Hollyoaks and Dancing On Ice at the same time," she said.
