Donald Trump‘s win in the 2024 presidential election might not be good news for Prince Harry. While the president-elect will have many issues to deal with when he returns to the White House in January 2025, he seems to have lingering issues with the stateside royal family member.

The conservative think tank, the Heritage Foundation, questioned the Duke of Sussex’s immigration status because of his admitted drug use in his 2023 memoir, Spare. The group took it upon themselves to sue the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) because they believed the royal received special treatment with his visa. John Bardo, who represented the DHS in court, doesn’t seem that bothered by Harry’s book. Per The Telegraph, the attorney said in court in February, “The book isn’t sworn testimony or proof, saying something in a book doesn’t necessarily make it true.”

That’s when Donald Trump inserted himself into the cast and told the Express in February, “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable.” The president-elect also criticized President Joe Biden, “I think they have been too gracious to him after what he has done.” Oops, fact check here — it was under Donald Trump’s administration in 2020 that Prince Harry’s visa was approved.

Harry revealed he partook in Courteney Cox’s psychedelic mushrooms as well as cocaine and marijuana in his younger days. He helped himself to the “black diamond mushroom chocolates” in the Friends star’s refrigerator and found himself hallucinating in her bathroom with an alleged talking trash can. What an epic Hollywood night!

Judge Carl Nichols ruled in Harry’s favor that “the Duke has a legitimate privacy interest in his immigration status,” per Hello! “And the Duke’s public statements about his travel and drug use did not disclose, and therefore did not eliminate his interest in keeping private, specific information regarding his immigration status, applications, or other materials.”

It wouldn’t be surprising if the Heritage Foundation appealed the case under Donald Trump’s administration, though, and we know the president-elect would likely support the group’s claims. It’s a royal headache that Prince Harry probably doesn’t want to endure again.
