Taylor Swift is showing up for Los Angeles fire victims in a big way – but her generosity goes beyond just writing a check.
On Thursday, January 16, Swift took to her Instagram Story to address the devastation caused by the raging wildfires in Southern California, expressing her deep sorrow over the destruction in a seemingly handwritten message.
"The fires in California have devastated so many families, and it's been heartbreaking to see the stories unfold," she wrote, before acknowledging all the "suffering, loss, and destruction."
The 35-year-old pop star – whose home was fortunately not impacted by the fires – went on to share, "As so many people embark on the some of the most challenging times of their lives, there are also amazing organizations and groups banding together to help these communities rebuild."
While the 14-time Grammy winner did not disclose her financial support, she did reveal she donated to several organizations working tirelessly to aid the affected communities.
Swift finished her post by typing out, listing, and tagging several relief organizations, such as the California Community Foundation Fund, Greater Los Angeles Education Relief, and Habitat for Humanity, and MusiCares, encouraging her fans to contribute to these causes if they were able.
Wildfires have been wreaking havoc across the Los Angeles area over the past week, reportedly killing over 20 people and destroying thousands of structures.
Other celebrities have joined the relief effort, including Jamie Lee Curtis, who donated $1 million to help the city's recovery, and Bethenny Frankel, who sent cash cards and supplies to those in need. Beyoncé also donated $2.5 million dollars to support families in recovery due to the fires.
Swift's charitable contributions aren't new for the pop star, as she has a long track record of helping disaster victims, including a $5 million donation to Feeding America to support relief efforts after Hurricane Helene and Milton in 2024.
