One of the many additions to the 1.6 update for Stardew Valley is Prize Tickets. This seven-year-old farming simulator has continued to gain and keep popularity among its adoring fans, and the game’s biggest update yet brought along a new bookseller, a secret Meowmere weapon, and now this mysterious collectible item.

Any players jumping back into Stardew Valley since the 1.6 update released on console and mobile, or anyone playing this indie hit for the first time, may be confused about how these Prize Tickets can be used. Not only that, but it isn’t obvious where players can receive them in the first place. Here’s how you can acquire and use these Prize Tickets in Stardew Valley.

How to find Prize Tickets in Stardew Valley

Players can earn Prize Tickets in Stardew Valley by completing Special Orders and quests. You can also receive them by winning the Egg Festival and Festival of Ice, alongside finishing the Spirit’s Eve maze. Although you don’t win them, you can spend 1,000 star tokens at the Stardew Valley Fair to get some Prize Tickets.

Other than festivals and events, the most common way you’ll come across Prize Tickets is by completing certain quests. To see which quest will grant you this reward, check the Help Wanted board in town and look for the star counter at the top left. Once it reaches three stars, your next quest will have a Prize Ticket for a reward. Unfortunately, this counter isn’t always accurate since you can have multiple quests activated at once. Once you complete this quest, the counter resets.

In terms of Special Orders, which players unlock at the start of fall of their first year, Prize Tickets are available as rewards for completing an order by opening the mailbox beside the Special Order board. There’s no star counter for this one, so Prize Tickets should be a reward for each Special Order.

Where to redeem Prize Tickets in Stardew Valley

The only way to spend your Prize Tickets in Stardew Valley is through the prize machine sitting in Lewis’ house. It’ll be beside the Town Ledger on the left side of his house. Interact with the machine and you’ll be granted the chance to spend a Prize Ticket to claim a prize. While the reward is random, you can still see which reward you’ll be getting, alongside the two consecutive rewards.

While the possible rewards for the first 22 slots are predetermined, the following prizes will cycle through nine possible slots. If one of the slots has more than one possible prize, your game will choose only one of the rewards. These are all the rewards you can earn from the prize machine:

‘Hardcore’ Stardew Valley mod deletes your save if you open up guides

A wedding in Stardew Valley. The player characters is marrying Haley, who's in a bridal gown. They're standing underneath an arch with all the townsfolk watching.

Stardew Valley is already as challenging as you make it. But have you ever wanted it to be even worse? Well, a new mod that's been making the rounds online could help with that.

The "Hardcore Mode" mod was created by a software engineer called Sylvie Nightshade and released out into the world on Friday (spotted by GamesRadar). It does one simple task: delete your save if you just so happen to open the Stardew Valley Wiki in your browser.

How to find and use the Prayer Room Key in Shadow of the Erdtree

Multiple players look out over a landscape with the Elden Ring co-op mod.

Calling Shadow of the Erdtree a DLC is kind of misleading when you actually enter the Land of Shadow and see just how massive this new region is. The base game was already massive, and this feels like another game about half its size was plopped into the world, with bosses, weapons, dungeons, and secrets all included. Among all the hidden areas and items, the most mysterious include the Prayer Room and the Prayer Room Key. Players may stumble upon one or the other -- most likely neither -- but almost certainly not both without some help. If you're interested in the lore of the game in particular, you will want to see what's hidden behind this very secluded door.

Note: This article contains minor spoilers for bosses and NPCs in Shadow of the Erdtree.

Is Disney Dreamlight Valley cross-platform?

A town landscape appears in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Mixing the addictive gameplay of a life-sim like Animal Crossing with the world of Disney was guaranteed to result in a hit. Disney Dreamlight Valley had been in early access for a few years while it added in more content, characters, quests, and tons of items. Even now that it is out, Gameloft has no plans to abandon its loyal players. Even in its early access state, Disney Dreamlight Valley has always been available on all platforms, but as of December 2023, the game got a massive multiplayer update. Farming and questing with friends in the Valley is the best way to play, but how robust is its cross-platform support?
Is Disney Dreamlight Valley cross-platform?
Unfortunately, the answer to this question is a little complicated. The easy part is that Disney Dreamlight Valley allows for cross-saves between all platforms, which include PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Mac, and Switch. Feel free to start on any platform and migrate to another later.

Crossplay, on the other hand, has one strange restriction. Disney Dreamlight Valley supports crossplay between all platforms except for PlayStation players. That means PlayStation players are only able to play with other people on PlayStation, while everyone else can join regardless of platform. There has been no word on whether this restriction will be removed in the future, but hopefully PlayStation players will be able to join in on the fun with everyone else soon. Thankfully, since you can move your save easily, you don't have to start over if you began on PlayStation and want to take advantage of crossplay on other platforms.
