No. 5 Texas (7-1) had two weeks off after losing to Georgia and escaping Vanderbilt but is now back to play an underwhelming Florida team this season. In their most recent game, the Longhorns faced the Vanderbilt Commodores and won by a slim 27-24. The Gators' last game was against the Georgia Bulldogs, and they lost by a score of 34-20.

Florida announced this week that head coach Billy Napier would remain the program's head coach. So far this season, Napier has led the Gators to a 4-4 overall record and 2-3 in conference play. The Florida head coach has been with the program since 2022, leading the Gators to a frustrating 15-18 overall record thus far.

A positive for Florida this season has been the team's defense. It buckled late in the loss to Georgia but helped the team stay in the game with three interceptions. Before that the defense had a three-interception game against Kentucky, and that was after forcing two turnovers against Tennessee.

Texas has a great defense as well. It has held its opponents to a minimal 11.5 points per game easily blew past the Michigan Wolverines and kept then-No. 18 from scoring a single touchdown.

The Longhorns score 39.1 points per game while allowing just 11.5 points on average. The Horns earn nearly 300 passing yards when they take the field and are currently ranked as the 16th overall offense in FBS.
