There’s drama between I Love a Mama’s Boy stars Janelle McAloon and her husband Josh McAloon’s mom, Tina, over their future living arrangements.
Josh toured his recent Florida home purchase with his interior designer Michele and discussed plans to convert the garage into a suite for his mother during the Monday, November 11, episode.
However, his wife, Janelle, 33, was not happy to hear that her mother-in-law would be taking over the garage, despite Josh’s assurances that they’d have enough space to maintain their privacy.
“Josh went ahead and called Michele to make these plans, and he did not consult me at all,” Janelle said in a private confessional. “I think Josh didn’t consult me because he knew how against it I would be. To lose the garage, to make a whole wing of the house for Tina, is just insane.”
At that moment, Tina walked in and added fuel to the fire by requesting a kitchenette to be built in the space for her to be able to cook her own meals.
“Janelle seems very upset with Josh,” the interior designer told cameras in a private interview. “I didn’t expect that kind of dynamic. If that happened to me, and the communication with my partner was not on point, I would be so shocked. And so, I understand where she’s coming from.”
Janelle, visibly annoyed with her arms crossed, asked Josh what he had to say in response to his mother’s request. Josh stayed quiet, leaving his mother to fiercely respond to Janelle.
“You’re just not getting it. He told me to make myself at home, make myself comfortable, tell him what I need,” she scolded her daughter-in-law. “Michele, I don’t wanna argue in front of you but this is what we need. And I’m just really getting tired of [Janelle] … What is yours is mine.”
Janelle was shocked to hear her mother-in-law’s words, “What is yours is mine? You are not his wife.”
Tina said she “came first” in Josh’s life, calling the whole fight “ridiculous.” Josh seemingly had his mother’s side in the argument, encouraging his wife to “take a breather.”
“Janelle is really off base because she’s gonna ruin relationships,” Tina said in a confessional interview. “Not only with me, but Josh is, you know, getting very upset with this squiveling, you know squabbling going back and forth, [with] me and Janelle.”
The drama first started after the family moved to Florida to be closer to Janelle’s parents and Tina felt she was “being thrown out like a piece of trash” by Janelle since she’d be closer to her own mother.
“I’m caught in the middle again and it’s … this is the standard for me, but I don’t like to go against my mom, so … really Nellie’s gonna have to get on board,” Josh told the cameras. “I hope that she can because I don’t want it to ruin the family.”
Janelle instead said Tina could share the primary bedroom with her husband and she wouldn’t live there, storming out of the garage as her mother-in-law called her a bitch.
