I'm A Celebrity fans praise Coleen Rooney as she opens up about her miscarriage heartbreak

2 hours ago 4

I'm A Celebrity's Coleen Rooney has given an insight into her family life, explaining the unique names of her four boys and sharing her sorrow over two miscarriages.

In Friday's episode, Coleen was seen discussing with Strictly star Oti Mabuse and Loose Women's GK Barry about the origins of her children's names: Kai, Klay, Kit and Cass. She revealed that she chose the name Cassius for its meaning, stating: "I looked up the meaning of the name Cassius and with a K it meant blackbird, and with a C it meant clever."

Coleen and her footballer husband Wayne decided on Cassius, then selected Mac as his middle name, reflecting her maiden name McLoughlin and her nickname Coleen Mac. As Coleen's middle name is Mary, this gave Cass the same initials as her, CMR.

She also shared that Cass Mac Rooney translates to "clever son of Rooney, that's the meaning. CMR. That's the only connection I've got to the kids!"

On having four sons, Coleen confessed: "I would've liked a girl for Wayne, I wasn't desperate, he would've liked a girl, I wasn't bothered either way," reports the Express.

She further discussed the pain they experienced when two pregnancies resulted in miscarriage, suspecting those babies were girls. She expressed: "I've had two miscarriages and I don't know whether that has been girls, you know sometimes they say you can't carry a certain sex, but they don't investigate until you have your third one."

Coleen told Oti and GK she suffered her first miscarriage before she had any of her children and another before the birth of Kit and Cass. She confessed: "When I had the first one I was really scared...but then once I had a child, it took that away, I went on to have another one. It's not a nice feeling for anyone, it's horrible but knowing that I could conceive and have the child, that made me feel better."

Speaking about her husband Wayne, Coleen expressed empathy for men in similar situations, saying: "I feel for the men in this situation...Wayne really felt it the first time round and it wasn't until later on that I thought, 'Do you know what, everyone's fussing around me, but not him and he had to just get up and go to work as normal', it's quite hard."

Oti concurred: "It's such a precious time but a scary time as well."

Viewers praised Coleen for her candid conversation on social media, with one fan commenting: "Love how Colleen (sic) has talked about her pregnancy struggles and also mentions how difficult it is for the father and not just the mother. Wow."

Another fan appreciated the show's meaningful discussions, saying: "I'm loving these deep conversations on I'm a celeb this year. Helps people relate and open up with their own struggles and to seek help if needed."

A third fan added: "Coleen is such a beautiful person."
