Fans of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here were left puzzled by Maura Higgins' unconventional showering habit.
After braving her worst fear of spiders during the Bushtucker Trial on Monday, the TV personality immediately stripped down to a her bikini to wash away the ordeal in the freezing camp shower.
But the skimpy swimsuit wasn't the only only thing turning heads, as the Irish model launched into an unusual beauty routine.
Maura placed an old red sock over her hand and began to rinse herself with it, causing viewers to flock to social media to share their confusion, the Mirror reports.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, a fan asked: "Maura exfoliated her skin with an old sock - what on earth could’ve made a sock that rough?…"
Others were quick to voice their pity for the star: "Maura exfoiliting [sic] her skin with a dirty sock, having had bugs thrown down at her on a bus, traumatised on a trial and an apple for her birthday for her gift," posted one fan.
A third joked: "Spent her birthday being tortured on a bus, got an apple when everyone else got treats, had to do a trial with Jane and now has to exfoliate with a dirty sock. Our maura is suffering on a biblical level."
Before seeking solace in the shower, Maura had faced a gruelling Bushtucker Trial that saw her brand Jane an "a**hole!" as tensions flared.
As part of the challenge, Maura crawled through cages in search of hidden words while Jane swum through an underwater obstacle course to find padlocks.
The pair were aiming to unlock the keys with the words that Maura uncovered, but teamwork quickly broke down when Maura's accent created confusion around the spelling of "boat".
Despite Maura's patience in speaking the letters loudly and clearly, Jane was unable to understand the letter "A". After she repeatedly asked what the letter she couldn't understand was, Maura snapped: "A! For a**hole!"
Before the clip was shown, Jane's family had shared their confidence in her performance in upcoming challenges.
Jane's daughters explained: "She's wanted to a do a trial since the beginning. I think she's going to absolutely smash it."
However, they admitted that a a trial involving water could prove difficult for the Loose Women star. When asked which challenge would be the worst for Jane, they said: "Probably something with water, which happens to be the one we've got her into, but she asked for it."
