Georgia Jones, wife of McFly's Danny Jones, who's currently braving the jungle in I'm A Celebrity, has revealed she's filled with pride watching her husband on the ITV show. Georgia, during an exclusive chat at OK! at the Action For Children Secret Santa's Giving Grotto, shared, "We're super, super proud of Danny. He's smashing it, isn't he?"

The 37 year old mum to their son Cooper, aged six, gleefully recounted how she advised her beloved before his TV adventure: "Before he went in, I told him just to be himself and not to worry about anything. I said, 'Just go in there and be you' and he has." Despite grappling with bushtucker trials and creepy crawlies, Danny, at 38, seems to have a firm grip on the challenges and remains a solid bet for the king of the jungle crown. Rubbing shoulders with celebs like Coleen Rooney, Barry McGuigan and Alan Halsall, Danny's can-do spirit shines through.

But confessing that Danny may not be as tough as the TV suggests, Georgia lovingly adds, "Danny was really adamant that he wanted to make Cooper proud and show him that even if you're frightened, you can still be brave."

"Cooper knows that Danny is scared of a lot of things – he hates creepy crawlies and eating challenges and things like that. I'm the one who does any type of rescuing in the house – if there's a spider, it's my job! " However, she adds that after Danny's stint on I'm A Celeb, he'll be taking over that role. "He's doing it all with a smile in the jungle," she continues.

As a devoted mum, Georgia has been watching the show on catch-up with her son, admitting they're both "exhausted" by 9pm. "Cooper has watched it occasionally on the night, but usually it's the next morning. He is absolutely loving it, but he is starting to miss his daddy now."

Fortunately for Cooper, the wait won't be much longer, as they're heading to Australia this week, where Danny's mum, Kathy, is already waiting. As Georgia prepares to reunite with Danny at the end of the ITV1 show's iconic bridge, she's undoubtedly hoping he'll be crowned King Of The Jungle. Regardless of the outcome, she'll be proud of him.

"I'm just going to tell him that I'm proud and well done. He's been so impressive. And I'll say there are no excuses for not being on spider duty now! " Georgia is buzzing with anticipation for her dream trip Down Under, but admits the adventure has thrown a wrench into her festive prep. She confessed, "I am so far from ready for Christmas, I'm the most unready I've ever been! Every year I say, 'I'm going to have done my presents by this time and have my turkey in the fridge ready to go,' but I haven't done anything. I don't have time!"

But it's not just the lack of presents that's troubling Georgia; she revealed that she and Danny are yet to sort out their kitchen situation.

"We've got both families coming to our house, so it will be really fun. But because we've just moved house, we don't actually have a working oven yet and I'll be in Australia so won't have time to buy one."

With a chuckle, she added, "So, I don't know how we are going to cook Christmas dinner. It might have to be nibbles!" Despite the chaos, Georgia's heart is set on making a difference this Yuletide season, throwing herself into charity work with Action For Children. At the organisation's Secret Santa's Giving Grotto – where Georgia was accompanied by Kelsey Parker, the widow of The Wanted's Tom – folks can donate presents to children who need them most, and Georgia's enthusiasm for the initiative shines through.

Georgia was moved to learn about the stark reality facing many children, saying: "I actually just found out that one in three children are living in poverty, which just doesn't bear thinking about. I think what Action For Children is doing is incredible, it's such a selfless act at Christmas to give to others. It's nice to see, because normally it's all about us receiving gifts."

She's also teaching her son the value of giving, explaining how they sorted through his toys for donation: "Because we've just moved house, we had a little sort out and I said to him, 'Look, there are lots of children out there that need toys. You've got lots, you don't need all of these. Let's take the things you don't play with that much to a charity shop, and then another little boy or girl can enjoy them like you have.'"

Cooper was eager to help, as Georgia laughs: "He was really good. Almost too good, actually – he wanted to give them all away! I was like, 'Um, that's brand new, Cooper!'"

With Danny away, Georgia has leaned on her "village" of friends and family, but she knows not everyone is so lucky: "It's really sad because some families don't have that village. There are women who have fled abusive relationships with their children and are in a new place with nothing and no one. We take our villages for granted and that's why what Action For Children is doing is so important."
