I'm A Celeb: Dean McCulloch emotional after quitting trial

Rebekah Vardy criticized one I'm A Celeb star, predicting they wouldn’t last and that other campmates would clash with them.

In her I'm A Celeb column for The Sun, the WAG took aim at Dean McCullough, accusing him of 'lacking resilience' after he quit a Bushtucker trial.

During last night's episode, Dean was locked into a mummy figurine and was joined by sand, giant mealworms and crickets. He got off to a good start and answered two questions correctly, before managing to secure two stars.

But it all got too much for him and he soon screamed the famous line: :I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!" With that, the trial was over and Dean was removed from the figurine, with Ant and Dec confirming he had won just two stars meaning the camp would be forced to ration their meals.

As it’s still early in the competition, the campers haven’t been too bothered by quitters or living on rationed meals, but Rebekah suspects that will change soon.

About Dean, Rebekah said: "You literally just have to force yourself into these trials. Everyone’s starving, totally relying on you to succeed. I can’t believe you actually tapped out.

"Trials force you out of your comfort zone and you have to switch the background noise off. Get in, get out and just get the job done because everyone’s relying on you. Everyone’s starving and everyone wants you to succeed. You’ve just got to get on with it.

"The camp’s been really, really nice at the minute with failures, but I guarantee it really won’t last long.

"Everyone’s going to become hangry and the weather, especially if it carries on being as wet and cold as it was last night. It's really really going to start affecting everyone’s mood so we may start seeing a few narky people."

Rebekah, who married English footballer Jamie Vardy, appeared on I'm A Celebrity in 2017. Later, at the end of 2020, she had a highly publicised feud with Coleen Rooney, wife of former footballer Wayne Rooney. Coleen famously accused Rebekah of leaking stories to the Sun with an infamous social media post. Rebekah kicked off a high-profile libel battle but in July 2022, a judge at the High Court found the post was "substantially true".

Rebekah's appearance on the ITV show in 2017 was overshadowed by Coleen’s participation in the 2024 I'm A Celeb line-up. Speaking to The Sun, Rebekah said: "Coleen's legal team were very dismissive about my reality TV past. They mocked it.

"So for her to be doing the jungle now, it’s hypocrisy at its finest, isn’t it? I think there was always a plan for reinvention. She stayed out of the public eye for so long.

"There were so many stories, negative stories, about Wayne. And I think she wanted to turn things around for herself. We’ve gone from a person about whom her legal team stood up in court and said, ‘She’s such a private individual’, and now this so-called private individual is going on one of the biggest reality TV shows in the UK. I mean, it’s ironic really."

As Coleen entered camp, Rebekah posted a snap of herself bathing in a pink bikini with here eyes closed. Appearing relaxed in the photo, Rebekah teased: "The feeling when you are living rent free in people's heads." She added a laugh-crying emoji and a winking emoji to her post.
