I'm A Celebrity enthusiasts were left in tears over Melvin Odoom's heartfelt act in tonight's show, sparking calls for him to 'step in' for the next bushtucker trial.

In Wednesday night's instalment of the ITV hit, Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly entered the camp to announce who would face the upcoming challenge to secure meals for their fellow campmates.

Emotions ran high among viewers when Radio 1 DJ Melvin took a moment to wish his mother a happy birthday. After learning he wasn't selected for the trial, Melvin seized the opportunity while still on camera, lifting his mug and declaring: "Happy birthday mum."

This tender moment resonated with the audience, prompting one fan to post: "That was such a smooth, nice way to say happy birthday to melvin's mum why am I emotional," and another to question: "Why am I crying at melvin odoom wishing his mum a happy birthday? ! ".

The revelation of who would brave the next trial, dubbed Rank Bank, had fans unanimously voicing a particular request. The trio chosen by public vote to participate were McFly's Danny Jones, broadcaster Dean McCullough, and Coronation Street's Alan Halsall, reports the Manchester Evening News.

While there was excitement about Danny and Alan joining the trial, sentiment was mixed regarding Dean's selection, given his track record of six trials already.

Social media was abuzz as devotees of the programme voiced their disapproval over the current line-up, with many clamouring for a cast change that would include Melvin instead of Dean.

Viewers shared their thoughts online, with one saying, "Should've been Melvin not Dean tbh," Another chimed in: "Danny, Alan and Melvin would've been such a vibe if Melvin got picked over Dean."

Echoing this sentiment, someone else remarked: "Should've replaced Dean with Melvin would've been more funny."

The frustration didn't end there, as another viewer lamented: "Nearly got Alan, danny and melvin on a trial together but dean has to ruin it," while another pleaded, "Can we swap Dean for Melvin... please."
