If there’s one thing that can ruin a good night's sleep, it's using the wrong pillow. Whether it’s too firm, too soft, too bulky or just so old that it’s lost all its support, the wrong pillow can leave you tossing and turning or waking up with a sore neck.
As someone who already struggles with back pain, I know all too well how important the right support is while I sleep, and whilst I love a super soft pillow for getting comfy with, I’ll often find myself waking up in pain from sleeping at the wrong angle. That’s why I decided to test out The Original Premium Shredded Memory Foam Pillow from Cloudpillo, which lets you adjust it to suit your sleep needs perfectly.
Although usually priced at £69.95, the Cloudpillo Original Premium Shredded Memory Foam Pillow is currently on sale at Amazon, down to £55.96, saving you 20%.

Review of the Cloudpillo Original Premium Shredded Memory Foam Pillow
Setting it up

Faith Richardson)I’m a classic side sleeper, but it doesn’t matter whether you like to sprawl on your back or lie on your front, the Original Premium Shredded Memory Foam Pillow is perfect for adjusting to your usual sleep position. I was quite impressed that it arrived in such a compact box, and the toughest part of setting it up was getting it out of the vacuum packed wrapping.
Once it was out, I admit I was initially a bit dubious about how comfortable it would be, as it looked quite flat and thin. It comes in a removable cotton blend pillowcase, with a second case inside which contains the shredded memory foam. The instructions told me to simply unzip the case, remove as many handfuls of the foam as I wanted, then to zip it back up and use it. It didn’t mention anything about fluffing up the pieces of foam, and once I’d removed a few handfuls it still looked a bit… sad.
However, I realised that you do, in fact, need to fluff it up. I simply dug my hand through it to loosen and unpack all the little bits of foam, and then zipped it back up and gave it a shake to make sure they were evenly distributed, and suddenly my pillow was miraculously full and fluffy and incredibly soft. This was also the point where I realised I hadn’t actually removed much of the filling at all, so I took several attempts at taking them out, trying it, then removing some more until I felt like I’d got it just right.
The instructions also suggest leaving the extra foam filling in the box, which you can easily reseal and tuck away under your bed or in a cupboard or loft – although I do recommend leaving it a few nights before putting it away more permanently while you make sure you’ve got it just right. I decided to put one of my silk pillowcases on it (I love this one from Drowsy) which means at night I’m getting the full ergonomic effects of the Original Premium Shredded Memory Foam Pillow whilst also keeping my skin and hair healthy.
Using the Cloudpillo Memory Foam Pillow

Faith Richardson)I’ve never tried a memory foam pillow before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of comfort – but I was pleasantly surprised. The pillow manages to mould to your position without feeling too clingy, and I was quite shocked at how supportive it felt, particularly around my neck.
I had a great night's sleep with the Cloudpillo Memory Foam Pillow. There wasn’t a hint of stiffness in my neck or shoulders the next morning, and I do think it helped keep my spine more neutral and aligned whilst I slept, even on my side.
Another great plus point is that the pillow has both a warm and a cool side. One side is made from a cosy fabric, whilst the other is made from the brand’s “ice silk” that gives you the cold side of the pillow feeling even in summer. Obviously we’re currently in the depths of winter, but I’ll be keen to see how well that holds up in the stuffy summer nights. It’s also fully hypoallergenic, and the dual pillowcases mean you don’t need to worry about the memory foam becoming dirty or unhygienic.
Final thoughts

Faith Richardson)I was pleasantly surprised by how well just changing my pillow improved my sleep, and, more importantly, my back pain. Rather than battling with constantly adding and changing how many pillows I sleep with, or finding some too soft and others too thick, this gave me so much autonomy over exactly how much support and firmness I wanted.
I also love how quick and easy it is to make a change to the firmness. Simply unzip, grab a handful of the foam out (or add it back in) and give it a shake and it’s done. Admittedly, it is a slightly more expensive purchase for a pillow even while it’s on sale, but I do think it’s worth investing in things that you use every single day (or night) if it helps improve pain or comfort.
If you do think it’s a little out of your price range, there are some other alternatives around. The Silentnight Adjustable Memory Foam Pillow is currently available on Amazon for £25, whilst the Emma Original Hybrid Pillow is £55.
Elsewhere, the Simba Custom Comfort Hybrid Pillow is also on sale, down from £109 to £92.65. However, if you want to take advantage of the Cloudpillo Original Premium Shredded Memory Foam Pillow sale, you can pick it up for £55.96 on Amazon now.
