Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal have been romantically linked thanks to their sizzling routines on the show.
But while the dancing couple are just friends, Jowita did used to date former Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Pernice.
The pair were said to have been together for just three months before they decided to call it quits - but not before letting the cat out of the bag. Days before their split was revealed, Giovanni appeared to accidentally confirm they were an item.
Quizzed about his relationship with his fellow professional dancer, the Italian said: "We are not talking about anything", suggesting Giovanni and Jowita were a couple. Their romance is said to have begun in December 2022 and ended in March 2023, with a source blaming their "hectic work schedules" for the split.
"Giovanni is on tour for the next five months and trying to make time for each other has proved absolutely impossible," the source told The Sun. "Although the relationship has ended, Giovanni and Jowita said they will stay good friends. It is just a shame they couldn't make it work."
Their brief relationship was called the "worst kept secret" at the BBC, with the couple spotted kissing backstage at Strictly. Comments were left on each other's social media posts and they were photographed out together on Valentine's Day in 2023.
In the chat with the Radio Times in early 2023, Giovanni was pushed further on his use of "we" when asked about the rumours. "This was my New Year resolution," he said. "We are not talking about anything."
Noting that he had said 'we' he was then pushed further on the subject as they said: "We, so there's a we?" to which Giovanni apparently "smiled silently". Strictly judge Anton Du Beke was there for the chat too and was said to have "howled" with laughter as Giovanni was grilled.
Giovanni has previously been linked to a string of famous women including Maura Higgins, Ashley Roberts, Georgia May Foote and Jess Wright. He also dated current Strictly contestant Tasha Ghouri. "I've met up with him (Giovanni) a few times but that was years ago," said the Love Island star.
"We are not in touch now, this is like ancient history. I'm so happy with Andrew and he's my future, so I don't want to talk about the past." Giovanni, 34, left Strictly earlier this year following bullying allegations from his Strictly contestant dance partner Amanda Abbington, which he firmly denies.
Out of a total of 16 allegations against Pernice, six were upheld by the BBC - some of which are for Giovanni using swear words. "I wasn't there," Tasha told the Sun when asked about the bullying allegations. "I'm here for my own experience on the show, so I'm focusing on myself to just really enjoy it."
