A video revealing what the "children" of two different dog breeds look like has quickly taken the internet by storm, bringing in over 2.3 million views on TikTok.
Siberian huskies and Labrador retrievers are two of the most common dog breeds for families. Social and athletic, huskies are pack animals that love being part of the family and require plenty of exercise. Labs are known for endless love and energy. Put these two breeds together, and you get one high-energy dog—and thanks to a recent video, people are obsessing over the mixed breed.
In a January 5 video, TikTok user @fjdjdj1396 showed the husky dad and Labrador mom sitting with their four children. The pups were carbon copies of their parents, although most people in the comment section thought the husky genes took over.
The pups rocked a blend of their parents' fur colors, black and yellow. As the owner filmed the dogs down the line, more black fur appeared. Their ears flopped down, looking most similar to a Labrador. They all appeared taller than their mom, and by the look on her face, she wasn't too happy about it.
The Canine Journal reported that this specific dog breed mix is growing in popularity, especially as service dogs.
Those wishing to bring home a husky-Lab mix can expect a medium to large-sized dog weighing between 40 to 75 pounds. They usually stand at 20 to 25 inches tall at the shoulder, although specific sizes depend on their parents and what traits they inherit.
Just as the appearance of a mixed breed puppy will differ, so will their personalities. Huskies and Labradors are known to be affectionate. However, your dog can take on temperament traits from either. The Canine Journal article suggested that training and early socialization help shape the dog's personality.
'Huskador Retrievers'
The TikTok video amassed over 2.3 million views and 104,300 likes as of publication time. People immediately fell in love with the whole doggy family.
"They have mama's ear," pointed out one viewer, while another loved "the eyes."
The kids got a beautiful mixture of the dad's bright blue eyes and the mom's brown. Several of their pups had one blue eye and one brown. Someone mentioned that the "heterochromia is strong" with these dogs.
Viewers went back and forth with what to name these children, including "Huskador retrievers" and "Labruskis."
