A soldier's TikTok inviting Sabrina Carpenter to his military ball has taken internet viewers by storm.

"If you're not Sabrina Carpenter, keep swiping," the soldier says in the video, before getting to the main point: "Miss Carpenter, I would like to formally invite you to the military ball. It is March 7th, right? I think at, uh, like, 4:00 PM. I'll pay for your ticket. Please, please, please, please, please."

Internet users quickly rallied behind him, with commenters showing overwhelming support. One person posted: "'I'll pay for your ticket,' sir, duh. That is THE Sabrina Carpenter you're talking about; that's the bare minimum I fear."

Many also had a sudden identity crisis. "Suddenly I identify as Sabrina Carpenter," one person wrote.

"Hello, it's me Sabrina, I have a new haircut," another added.

Others were equally invested in the outcome, with one user commenting: "Have I ever met you? No. Am I rooting for you? ABSOLUTELY."

In a particularly heartwarming comment, a viewer shared their own experience: "Just saying, my husband's and my first date was the navy ball. Now we have three kids, a dog and have been together over a decade. I believe in you, bro."

While it is unclear whether Sabrina Carpenter will be able to attend the ball—some are predicting she might be busy with her tour—the soldier's plea for a date has continued to capture attention. In an update video, he shared just how far the invite had reached.

"Alright guys, so like a little update, alright, we got like 2.5 million views, something like that. That's insane. That's insane to me," he said. "I've almost have like 6,000 followers, which is crazy, because I started with like 1,000. Crazy, crazy stuff. But, uh, unfortunately no Sabrina Carpenter yet. But the hopes are still high, so stay tuned. Alright, thank you."

For now, fans continue to root for the soldier and are holding out hope that this invitation might just get the happy ending they're all hoping for.

"Even I want to know if Sabrina's going to respond," one person wrote, though Carpenter has not responded at the time of publication.
