iOS 18.2 is set to be released to everyone in early December. Ahead of that, beta testing continues today with the release of iOS 18.2 beta 2 for developers. As a refresher, iOS 18.2 comes with new Apple Intelligence features like Image Playground, Genmoji, and ChatGPT integration.
Notably, iOS 18.2 beta 1 was only available to iPhone models with support for Apple Intelligence. iOS 18.2 beta 2, however, is available to all iPhone models capable of running iOS 18.
Apple Intelligence features, of course, are still limited to iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPhone 16 models.
iOS 18.2 beta 2 now available
iOS 18.2 beta 2 is available to developer beta testers with build number 22C5125e. There is no public beta available, and there’s no timetable for when that will change.
Meanwhile, iPadOS 18.2 is available to any iPad that can run iPadOS 18. Apple Intelligence features continue to be limited to iPads powered by M1 and newer.
iOS 18.2 includes the second round of Apple Intelligence features:
- Image Playground allows you to create “fun images in seconds” by typing, offering two styles: Animation and Illustration.
- Genmoji lets you generate custom emojis based on text descriptions.
- When you interact with Siri in iOS 18.2, you now have the option to access ChatGPT.
- The Writing Tools feature now offers a “Compose” button to generate text related to your chosen topics. There’s also a new “describe your change” option for Writing Tools.
- Visual intelligence utilizes the iPhone 16’s camera control to help you learn more about the things around you.
- Image Wand in the Notes app let you turn rough sketches “into delightful images” and create images using context from the rest of your note.
Other than Apple Intelligence, iOS 18.2 includes the redesigned Mail app that categorizes your email into four different categories: Primary, Transactions, Updates, and Promotions.
