Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves McConaughey are paying homage to his iconic role in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days in a new ad for their organic tequila brand, Pantalones.
The ad, which features the Oscar-winning actor pantless, shows the couple recreating the poster for the 2003 rom-com. Titled “How to Lose Your Pants in 10 Ways,” Camila McConaughey is decked out in a yellow silk dress matching the one Kate Hudson wore for the film.
Pantalones also debuted 10 specialty cocktail recipes inspired by the movie, including “Love Fern Margarita,” “Benny Boo Boo,” “You’re So Vain” and “Yellow Dress.”
The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days-inspired ad is the latest installment in the “official tequila of” campaign for the McConaughey’s tequila brand.
In August, they released a Labor Day-themed ad, which featured them mowing the lawn pants-free. The ad dubbed the brand the official tequila of “mowing your lawn.” They’ve previously released pantless pickleball, grilling and poolside ads for Pantalones.
The couple launched the brand in the fall of 2023 with Blanco, Reposado and Añejo. The award-winning line of tequila is “crafted to celebrate having fun, doing good and not taking life too seriously,” according to a release. It recently celebrated its first anniversary.
In the brand’s first year on the market, the Añejo tequila was recently awarded the San Francisco World Spirits Competition’s highest honor, the double gold — an award given when all judges unanimously voted it the best in class. Their Blanco tequila also received a gold medal, while the Reposado received the bronze.
The brand previously said in a release earlier this year that almost all of its 2024 work will be pants-free.
