Joel Dommett seemed to hint that the celebs all knew to expect one another in the jungle

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! fans have voiced their theories that the show might all be staged after spotting a major clue.

The show came to an end on Sunday, with McFly star Danny Jones narrowly beating Coleen Rooney to be crowned King of the Jungle. However, the stars of the show then got an opportunity to rehash what they’d been through over the past few weeks, and fans thought that I’m a Celebrity… Unpacked host Joel Dommett suggested that the celebs all knew each other before entering the jungle, but they all pretended to be surprised in front of the cameras.

“Just caught up on unpacked. Did anyone catch that Joel said they all fly out together…so they’ve all kind of met & probably had a decent amount of time to get to know one another. So why do they all introduce each themselves on the first episode! Lol. I’m sure sometimes they make out like they’re meeting for the first time ,” one online sleuth complained on Reddit.

Fans claimed that the celebs were pretending not to know who else would be in the jungle, and seemed 'forced' in their conversations

A second pointed out that when contestants Richard Coles and Maura Higgins joined the show, the other celebs didn’t seem overly intrigued by who was hiding away in the separate camp. “Also, when the first people went and met the junkyard campmates they returned to main camp and were asked who they were, saying ‘it's Richard and Maura’ and everyone just went ‘ah okay.’ not ‘Richard who? Maura who? What are they both famous for?’” they said.

One person argued: “The celebrities did not fly all out together. Joel, Sam, Danny and Kemi just happened to be on the same flight. The other celebrities all arrived at different times. Coleen Rooney was the last one to arrive. They usually arrive a week before the show starts to do interviews, get over jet lag and get used to the warmer weather.”

However, another ITV fan claimed that many conversations seemed scripted, and shared: “I said just a few days ago ‘I wonder how many of these conversations are natural and how many are prompted,’ some of them felt really forced and unnatural, especially this season.”

This year’s show was tight, with Danny winning 55.2% of the public vote in the finale, while Wayne Rooney’s wife came in second place with 44.8%. Before Danny was revealed as 2024’s champions, he and Coleen spoke about their three-week experience. Danny said of his time: "This is totally insane. I've learned so much about myself, and that's because the camp mates were unbelievable. They made it so easy for us to get through the hard times.

"I've had some of the hardest times I've ever had, some of the highest highs, and just tried to have fun along the way. It was way harder, harder than what it comes across on TV, but it's real in there. You're hungry, you're tired, you're lethargic.”

Coleen shared a similarly emotional moment in the Bush Telegraph, admitting: "Knowing that I have made it to the final makes me proud. I’m a proud mum, I’m a proud wife, I’m a proud daughter, it’s very rare that I’m proud of myself, so it means a lot. It’s very rare that I put myself first, so yeah these are happy tears!"

The star revealed it was a 'strange experience' and said of her time in the jungle: "It gave me time to think about me, my strengths and weaknesses." She added it was 'her turn' for her kids to be proud of her after they spent so long proud of their footballer dad.
