I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! fans are expressing disappointment with one celeb who's drawn much attention since the ITV show's Sunday return, boasting famous faces including Coleen Rooney, Danny Jones and Jane Moore.
Nail-biting challenges, heartfelt chats and chucklesome antics have all featured since the commencement, but Dean McCullough, the radio personality, has become the centre of trials, having been picked over and over by viewers.
Dean has undertaken a slew of Bushtucker Trials, with two solos and one double act with GK Barry. Regrettably, both individual attempts concluded prematurely as he uttered the iconic plea: 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!'.
In these stomach-churning tasks, 32-year-old Dean has encountered an array of creepy crawlies from crickets to serpents and spiders, not to mention green ants and roaches. Eager to snatch up stars for campmates, his shrieks of terror have accompanied his efforts, reports the Express.
Come Thursday night, the announcement came that yet another trial awaited Dean, this time partnering with McFly's Danny Jones. Despite some fans airing their views on X (formerly Twitter), scepticism looms large over his sincerity in reactions.
Doubt was cast by one commenter, who said: "Can no one else tell that dean is being fake? can we stop voting him for trials pls it's literally what he wants the public to do for more screen time #ImACeleb #imacelebrity."
Another wrote: "Why is he acting shocked when he's picked? He's got to know why he's been voted .. so fake #imaceleb."
Someone else tweeted: "#ImACeleb my main problem with Dean is that one second he's screaming the next he's calm as anything.. just comes across all fake and staged."
One fan pleaded: "Please stop voting for Dean to do trials. It's really boring now. Fake drama."
Meanwhile, another viewer didn't hold back, commenting: "I'm sorry but I just find Dean so fake."
Yet, not everyone is critical, with some viewers enjoying Dean's jungle antics, as one admirer posted: "God I LOVE Dean."
On Good Morning Britain, Susanna Reid came to Dean's defence during a discussion about his trials, stating firmly: "I have to defend Dean here. I don't know him and have never met him, but he had the helmet on, which then got filled with bugs.
"Then he managed to do the two stars, you collect the stars using your mouth and then you poke it through the little letter box hole. Then the sand came in, this is sand."
"You know what it's like when you get trapped in sand and the sand is continually rising up his legs. Even as I say that I start feeling a little bit panicky!"
Currently, Danny Jones and GK Barry are leading the odds as the top two favourites to be crowned winners of the show.
According to William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps: "Danny Jones was already a firm favourite to win this year's edition of I'm A Celebrity and the McFly singer has been smashed in the betting since the beginning of the show, shortening into even-money from 15/8 yesterday.
"Jones is now well clear of GK Barry at 5/1, with Maura Higgins closing in on her in the market at 8/1 from 10/1.Alan Halsall is the big negative in the market, after drifting to 14/1 from 8/1."
I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! continues weeknights on ITV from 9pm.
