Lorraine Kelly has hit out at a journalist after she was added to a list of celeb's who were alleged to have not written their own books. The ITV star is the proud author of her novel, The Island Swimmer.
According to Amazon Prime, Lorraine's "feel-good" book follows the story of Evie, who's father falls desperately ill. The story sees her return to the family home on Orkney and the wild landscape she left as a teenager after swearing never to return.
However, not everyone is happy at her arrival, particularly her estranged sister Liv, with their relationship broken after a childhood trauma.
As Evie clears out her father's neglected house to prepare it for sale, lonely Evie finds herself drawn to a group of cold-water swimmers led by her old friend Freya, who find calmness beneath the waves. Together they help Evie face up to the mistakes in her past, unlocking a treasure of truths that will reverberate through the community, and shake her family to its core.
A journalist called out the written works of celebrities as she took aim at Jamie Oliver in particular, writing: "I only know that he's one of those famous people who get to 'write' children’s books simply by being famous. He’s not the only one."

She then went on to name Lorraine among a list of famous faces - with the ITV star later reacting with fury.
Posting to Twitter, the 64-year-old Scottish TV host hit back as she shared the article. She added her own thoughts, writing: "So Deborah - really love your writing but FFS - I wrote every feckin word of my novel #theislandswimmer - hardest thing I’ve ever done."
She sadly added: "You’ve really hurt me," before being flooded with an influx of support from fans. One wrote: "Didn’t know you’d written a book lovely Lorraine…. But I just bought it!!! #theislandswimmer."

Another added: "Loved #TheIslandSwimmer. Listened to the audiobook and your reading really brought it to life. Your knowledge of and love for the Orkney setting really shone through."
A third penned: "Your book was brilliant. I was captivated from the start and had to force myself to stop listening every night so I could get some sleep. No feckin idea what thus Deborah person is on about."
Meanwhile, a fourth said: "I really enjoyed your novel, bring on another," while Lorraine replied teasing: "Almost finished the second one!"
