James Haskell has lifted the lid on what he really got up to with Chloe Madeley after leaving I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!
The rugby star, 39, went Down Under in 2019 while he was still married to the daughter of This Morning stars, Richard and Judy, who he split up with last year.
Opening up about the couple reuniting in Australia after James had spent 19 days in camp, the dad-of-one said sex with fitness enthusiast Chloe was the last thing on his mind because he was "so exhausted".
Admitting their rumoured "two day sex marathon" was not physically possible, he said: "Honestly, I was just so exhausted and I had lost 13kgs in 19 days, I stank and I had no energy. From a physical standpoint, it never would’ve happened if I had tried or wanted to anyway!"
Claiming Chloe, 37, 'fluttered her eyelashes' - but to no avail, James continued on behalf of Spin Genie: "All I wanted to do was eat, not talk to anybody, have a bath, watch TV and read a book. Chloe was fluttering her eyelashes at me and I just smiled at her, picked up the phone and ordered all the food!
"She also wanted me to tell her all about it but I was just like, ‘I love you but I can’t talk, I’ve just spent the past 19 days talking and I can’t do it anymore!’ So it’s really not the romantic reunion you expect it to be. I was more interested in my three-decker pizza cake and truffle risotto. I had been dreaming about that for weeks."
A year on from the couple's shock split, Chloe opened up about her fragile relationship with James and described the exact moment she knew her relationship was over. The fitness guru and the former rugby player officially parted ways last October after five years of marriage and over a decade of dating.
Appearing on the latest episode of Olivia Attwood ’s So Wrong It’s Right podcast, Chloe finally felt comfortable enough to discuss the breakdown of her marriage, including what had prompted her to call time on their romance.
She shared: “I'm one of those people that needs structure and routine. My ex, and I, I think, one of the reasons things became so hard for us was because he thrives in chaos. His schedule, I don't even remember when he was in England for a full week. He's all over the place and I just can't do that. Can't live like that.”
“I think I knew that I was really unhappy,' she added. “And I think he knew that he was really unhappy too. But I don't think either of us ever would have predicted that we were going to break up. Ever.”
Pinpointing a specific time in which she realised things were irreconcilable, Chloe concluded: “I swear to God it was just like one day, I remember exactly where we were - I remember the day, the time, the temperature, the outfit, everything - I just remember like just saying it, "I don't think that we should do this any more", but really meaning it and it kind of went from there."
* The final of I'm A Celebrity is on ITV at 9pm on Sunday
