One of the best-selling artists of all time, Sir Rod Stewart revealed there's more to come yet, as he celebrated his milestone 80th birthday from his super yacht - 'I've not finished yet'
Sir Rod Stewart vowed to keep on rocking as he celebrated his 80th birthday. The star looked back on a remarkable career yesterday as he marked the milestone.
He shared a message of “gratitude and thanks to all my loyal and rowdy fans” on Instagram from a $150million super yacht in Barbados. He added: “I hope I’ve given you some memorable songs and lively concerts and... I’ve not finished yet.”
His wife Penny Lancaster, 53, shared a snap of her husband, saying: “Happy birthday my darling." In another social media post, he thanked his fans for their birthday wishes and confirmed we haven't seen the last of him yet.
Alongside a collection of snaps from over the eras, he wrote: "What an incredible journey it’s been – from unforgettable moments on and off the stage to earning some truly special honors along the way.
"But above all, my greatest joy has always been performing for you. Cheers to the memories we’ve made and the ones still to come!"
The rocker recently slammed disgraced MasterChef host Gregg Wallace, after Gregg stepped down from the show after the BBC announced it was investigating historical allegations of misconduct against him. Rod wrote on Instagram: "So Greg Wallace gets fired from MasterChef.
"Good riddance Wallace…You humiliated my wife when she was on the show but you had that bit cut out didn’t you? You’re a tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully. Karma got ya."
The singer's wife Penny Lancaster appeared on MasterChef Celebrity in 2021, making it nearly all the way to the semi-final before being booted off.
Rod also hammered Gregg with a second remark following this when asked by a fan if he would invite Gregg to his home for Christmas, and replied with: "What, yellow teeth!"
Not the only person to cop Rod's rage, Rod once described Elton John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road retirement tour as "dishonest".
