Jamie Lee Curtis is devastated about the Los Angeles wildfires.
On Wednesday, the actress was on the opposite side of the country for an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon during the ongoing devastation in Pacific Palisades and other areas in Southern California due to the fires. As you may know, Jamie and her husband, Christopher Guest, with whom she shares two daughters, live in the Pacific Palisades, where so many have lost their homes. This is a very heartbreaking time for her and other residents, so, understandably, Jamie got emotional at the beginning of the episode:
“I’m literally just about to cry. As you know, where I live is on fire right now. Literally the entire city of the Pacific Palisades is burning.”

Awful. Jamie explained that she flew to New York City on Tuesday and “started getting texts” from the plane about the tragedy in her area, adding:
“It’s f**king gnarly. It’s just a catastrophe. This is literally where I live. Everything. The market I shop in, the schools my kids go to … many, many, many friends have lost their homes. It’s a really awful situation. I’m obviously gonna go home first thing tomorrow and be with my family and try to help my friends.”
Jamie went on to offer up ways to help everyone in California, saying:
“But just so I can tell you, if you know anybody on the West Coast, or not, the American Red Cross, support them. They will come in and help people. Do anything you can, anything in your community to help people. Whether you need it or not now, you will need it. Give blood, donate, whatever you can do. Animal shelters.”
We’re sending our love to all the victims of this tragedy. It’s just terrible and scary what’s happening. Watch the emotional interview (below):
