Jennifer Fox Will Produce Film Academy’s Governors Awards for Sixth Time

Jennifer Fox, the Oscar-nominated film producer, will produce the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences‘ 2024 Governors Awards, Academy president Janet Yang announced Wednesday. It will be Fox’s sixth time overseeing the event, following the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th editions.

At the 15th Governors Awards, which will take place in the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood on Sunday, Nov. 17, Quincy Jones and Juliet Taylor will receive honorary Oscars; Richard Curtis will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award; and Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson will receive the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award.

“Jennifer is an exemplary producer, and we are delighted to welcome her back to the Governors Awards for a sixth time,” Yang said in a statement. “Her expertise is unmatched, and we’re looking forward to a joyous event.”

Added Fox, “I’m thrilled to produce this special event for the Academy for another year. It’s truly a highlight to honor the careers of such talented individuals and help kick off Oscar season.”

Fox began her career in development and production at Universal Pictures, where she worked on several films, including Erin Brockovich. She then spent the next six years producing with Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney’s production company, Section Eight, on such acclaimed titles as Syriana; Good Night, and Good Luck; The Informant!; and A Scanner Darkly. Her other film credits include Duplicity; The Bourne Legacy; We Need to Talk about Kevin; Nightcrawler; Roman J. Israel, Esq.; Velvet Buzzsaw; The Report; The Last Duel; and the forthcoming Magazine Dreams.
