Jennifer Lopez’s Ex Ojani Noa Partly Blames Diddy for Their Divorce: ‘Where the Deception and the Lying Began’

Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband Ojani Noa partly blames the demise of their marriage on Sean “Diddy” Combs.

While all eyes have been on the disgraced 54-year-old media mogul amid his ongoing sexual assault lawsuits and reports of his alleged “freak off” parties have taken over headlines, Noa raised some eyebrows last week when he shared a supposed list of Diddy’s party guests to his Instagram account, along with photos of Lopez, now 55, at one of his presumed gatherings.

“I’M NOT ON THE LIST,” Noa, 50, wrote in the caption of his post, which has a thick black arrow pointing at his ex-wife’s name. “To those people and media outlets asking if I ever went or participated in that Piece of Shit (DIDDY”S) Freak-Off Parties. No and No. Never. But my Ex-Wife (Jennifer Lopez) a.k.a (JLO) Did.. Ask Her. Oh and ask her about the SEX TAPES, The 734 DILDOS And The BABY OIL.”

The Cuban actor and chef appeared on a recent episode of Univision’s Despierta América morning show to clear the air about his post.

“First of all, I’m not accusing anyone, let’s clear the air,” Noa said in Spanish at the 1:09 mark in the video linked above. “I was referring to the many people who stop me in the street and ask me if I went to the parties, if I knew anything, and I got tired. Because one gets tired of all these things, one gets tired of constantly being asked [about it].”

“I put up the post asking to please stop asking me. I didn’t go to any party, but she did go to the parties. They should ask her when you have her present, not me,” he added.

Noa and Lopez became engaged in 1996 during the wrap party for her career-defining film, Selena, according to Latin Times. They wed in February 1997, but their marriage only lasted 11 months.

“Part of that divorce was because of Puffy,” Noa told Despierta América. “When we were already married, when Selena came out and her career took off—she told me, ‘Papi, I want to be a singer.’ I said, ‘Mami, let’s do it. Let’s take advantage of the opportunity and take meetings with different record labels and see which one will sign you.’”

From there, Noa alleges that when Diddy was involved with Lopez’s recording contract with Sony Music and he was set to produce several songs for what would become her 1999 debut album, On the 6.

“And that’s where the deception and the lying began. That’s where the separation began,” he added, noting that he was opening a restaurant in Los Angeles at the time while she was traveling between Miami and New York to finish the LP.

Per People, Diddy and J.Lo became an item in 1999 and dated for two years before splitting in 2001.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the former couple still maintained a business relationship despite their divorce, but things soured when Noa sued Lopez over “employment claims.” They eventually settled, with Noa agreeing not to disclose personal details about their relationship nor disparaging her in any way for profit.

Lopez gained a permanent injunction against Noa in 2006 after she sued him for breaching the settlement when attempting to shop around a book about their marriage.

When asked what he would say to her if they were face-to-face, Noa responded, “To tell the truth, to talk about everything that happened in the past. I’d ask her what I did to you personally to make you take me to court. You’ve accused, lied, and made up false things about me. You’ve called different companies to fire me, you’ve called different television networks to not hire me. Why? I haven’t done anything to you.”
