Jennifer Lopez Says Her Kids Are ‘Brutally Honest’: Gets ‘Joy From Hearing Their Thoughts’

1 day ago 5

Jennifer Lopez is completely open to any criticism and opinions from her twins, Max and Emme Muniz, and the movie star said she wouldn’t have it any other way.

“I think kids are like kind of wrapped up in their own lives a bit, but if you ask them, they will give you their honest opinion about everything, you know what I mean?” Jennifer, 55, told E! News in an interview published on Monday, January 6. “They’re ready to be brutally honest with you at times.”

“I like my kids to see my work and know what I’m doing,” she continued, “And I’ll share certain things with them and say, ‘What do you think of this?’ or, ‘What do you think of that?’ And they always have an interesting perspective, because they’re from a different generation.”

Jennifer shares Max and Emme, both 16, with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

“It’s really always additive as far as I’m concerned,” the Hustlers star shared. “I always have such joy from hearing their thoughts and what they think about things.”

Jennifer most recently starred in Unstoppable, the true story of wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg but went on to be a champion collegiate wrestler. She plays Anthony’s mom, Judy Robles, in the film, which was produced by her estranged husband, Ben Affleck.

“It was an honor to be a part of Anthony’s story and to play Judy,” J. Lo said of her role during an interview with Amazon/MGM. “I approached the role with a complete lack of ego where you have to go in there and have so much respect for the person you are playing because it’s her story.”

The movie was filmed when Ben, 52, and Jennifer were still a couple. She filed for divorce on August 20, 2024, after two years of marriage.

Ben praised Jennifer’s performance in a November 3, 2024, interview with Entertainment Tonight, calling her “spectacular.” It seemed to catch the “Waiting for Tonight” singer somewhat off-guard.

“In front of the camera and behind the scenes as well, Ben Affleck described you as spectacular in your performance,” a reporter told J. Lo on the red carpet of the film’s London premiere on November 5, 2024, asking her, “How would you describe his producing?”

Jennifer didn’t reply directly to the question about Ben or mention him directly. Instead, she graciously responded, “I would describe all of the cast and everybody behind the scenes as spectacular and wonderful.”

The “On the Floor” singer took a break from promoting Unstoppable to spend her first Christmas and New Year’s since filing for divorce surrounded by family and friends. Jennifer was joined by Max and Emme, as well as her sister, Lynda Lopez, for an extended stay in Aspen, Colorado.

On December 25, 2024, the Bronx, New York, native posted photos of Emme in plaid pajamas in front of the Christmas tree, as well as sitting outside on a frosty bench while sipping hot beverages with the teen and her niece Lucie.

Jennifer said goodbye to Aspen on January 3, sharing an Instagram video showing off her holiday getaway, including New Year’s Eve fireworks, dancing with pals at a bar and a photo wearing just a bikini and fuzzy boots. “We’ll be back Aspen,” she wrote in the caption.
