Floyd Collins follows the true story of a cave explorer in 1925 who got trapped 200 feet underground, while rescue efforts caused a media sensation.
The musical comes to Broadway after making its world premiere at the American Music Theater Festival in Philadelphia in 1994. The show made its off-Broadway debut at Playwrights Horizons in 1996 where it won the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical and a cast recording was created, which has increased awareness of the musical over the years.
The show will have sets by dots, costumes by Anita Yavich, lighting by Scott Zielinski, sound by Dan Moses Schreier and projections by Ray Sun, with dance sequences by Jon Rua.
