The lack of unity and communication within the New York Jets organization could not have been symbolized more fittingly before the last kickoff of a topsy-turvy campaign.
Scores of people carried out a 30-yard long Jets banner upside down during Sunday's pregame ceremonies ahead of the Jets' Week 18 home game against the Miami Dolphins.
The reversed banner read, "STEJ" for 82,500 to see and plenty more watching at home across the nation.
It's a not-so-poetic poetic way to sum up the trials and tribulations that have spread itself from the top-to-bottom of a Jets organization that's produced one disappointment after the next over the course of the last four months.
