Joe Wicks has taken on a 'big shop' on roller skates, at the world's first supermarket-themed roller disco.

The fitness expert and ASDA ambassador was revealing the transformation of Margate's Dreamland roller room into a grocery store.

The art-deco space was revamped to mimic an Asda supermarket, complete with aisles and shelves filled with boxes symbolising discounted products.

Wicks was seen performing pirouettes with a shopping basket in hand and browsing the chilled and cupboard sections.

In a Supermarket Sweep-style event, the roller room will welcome participants on 7th and 8th February. They'll have the opportunity to skate and win prizes by whizzing around the spacious rink, collecting groceries against the clock.

During each 45-minute session, skaters will be equipped with wheels, a basket, and a shopping list before being tasked with grabbing the bargains.

Those who manage to collect everything on their list will stand a chance to win hundreds of pounds worth of vouchers, with some winning spot prizes worth up to £50.

The event was organised by Asda as it announced the comeback of its Rollback proposition, which reduces the prices of more than 4,000 family-favourite products by an average discount of 25% in-store and online.

Joe Wicks expressed: "I'm so excited to don a pair of skates and take to the rink at Dreamland this weekend. As a father of four, supporting families to be able to access and cook low-cost, simple meals is hugely important to me.

"I'm looking forward to helping people discover the fab product offers and provide some recipe inspiration to help turn deals into dishes."
