“Last Week Tonight” comedian John Oliver addressed his ongoing feud with Donald Trump acolyte Elon Musk and suggested what it is about him that gets under the skin of the billionaire owner of X, formerly Twitter.
Oliver, appearing on “The Late Show,” was asked by host Stephen Colbert, “Why do you think you bug him so much?”
Musk “clearly loves comedy,” Oliver replied.
“So, he wants to be funny and, unfortunately, money can’t buy you that,” he continued. “So, deep down, he’s never going to be funny and that must be eating him alive, because he’s trying so hard to be funny.”
“Every time he tries, it must make it seem further away from him, that laugh that he’s always chasing but will never catch up with,” Oliver added. That is “going to be a vacuum at the center of his soul for a long time.”
