Jon Gosselin teased who will be invited to his wedding to fiancée Stephanie Lebo, and he revealed that his estranged children are on the guest list.
Shortly after his engagement to Stephanie, 37, was announced, Jon, 47, was asked by Entertainment Tonight if he planned to invite all eight of his children to their wedding. “I would definitely do that,” he said. “I would definitely send an invite to all of them. You know, they are my kids. It’d be nice for her to meet my other kids.”
“I just kind of support the kids that are integrated into the family. If other ones wake up and realize what’s going on, the door’s always open here,” Jon added of the six children he’s estranged from.
Jon and his ex-wife Kate Gosselin – who were married from 1999 until 2009 – share twins Mady and Cara, 24, and sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel, 20. The only children he has relationships with are Collin and Hannah.
While Jon said he didn’t talk to his estranged children about his plans to propose to Stephanie, he revealed how he shared the news with Hannah and Collin.
“I was like, ‘Oh yeah, by the way, I’m gonna marry Steph.’ He goes, ‘Dad, you say it so nonchalantly. Like, that’s great. That’s awesome.’ And he hugged me and stuff like that,” he recalled of telling Collin. “They were happy, and that’s all it matters to me. I don’t want to upset them, but I’m going to do this anyway, but hopefully I have your approval.”
The couple announced their engagement on November 28 after Jon popped the question at Willoughby’s on Park in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.
Stephanie and Jon later took to Instagram to share the news in a joint post, which included photos of her showing off her diamond engagement ring. “Of course I said yes,” she wrote alongside the snapshots. Stephanie then added in the comments section, “Overwhelmed with love. Truly thank you all. Happy Thanksgiving!”
After they announced the engagement, Jon weighed in on how he thought Kate, 49, would react to the news.
“I can’t believe it,’ probably that,” he jokingly predicted about his ex’s response while talking to Entertainment Tonight. “I have no idea, I haven’t talked to her since 2018 and I wasn’t thinking of her when I was proposing to Steph.”
Jon then reiterated that Kate’s feelings about the engagement were “not even in [his] brain.”
The Jon and Kate Plus 8 alum started dating Stephanie in 2021, though they didn’t publicly confirm their relationship until August 2023. They haven’t been shy about flaunting their relationship ever since they took it public, and Jon even teased that he planned to ask Stephanie for her hand in marriage by Christmas.
“I think we’ll just have a very intimate wedding and then a big home reception or something like that,” he said during a July appearance on The Domenick Nati Show, adding that Stephanie would be in charge of wedding planning since it will be her first marriage.
