Saturday Kitchen: Jon Richardson jokes he won't eat brownie
Comedian Jon Richardson left fans speechless in April 2024 when he and fellow comic Lucy announced their separation after nearly a decade of marriage.
Just last month, Lucy, 41, was spotted leaving a bustling theatre in London, accompanied by her rumoured new partner, sound engineer Martin Wallace.
Meanwhile, Jon, 42, has provided a rare glimpse into his personal life as he navigates the aftermath of his divorce.
On Sunday night, he took to the stage to host a special comedy gig for Absolute Radio, aiming to raise funds for The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Charity at the iconic London Palladium.
The evening featured an impressive lineup of comedic talent, including Dara O'Briain, Josh Widdicombe, and Judi Love from Loose Women.

Judi's stand-up routine delved into the humorous and poignant challenges of dating after age 40.
Her insightful commentary resonated deeply, leaving an impression on Jon, who, upon returning to the stage, remarked, "It makes me think I'm so happy being single."
Later in the evening, Jon shared a lighthearted observation about the little luxuries of single life, revealing with a chuckle how he no longer has to run the tap while using the bathroom in a hotel room now that he enjoys the privacy and freedom of living alone.
The gig proved a heartfelt tribute to The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, which had played a pivotal role in saving the life of his close friend and fellow comedian, Matt Forde. This gathering was not just about comedy but also a celebration of friendship and gratitude towards those who had made a difference in their lives

Matt and Jon are the dynamic duo behind the widely acclaimed Down the Dog podcast, where they discuss a variety of topics.
Recently, during a live episode, Matt opened up about his challenging journey with cancer. At 42 years old, he faced a life-altering diagnosis when doctors discovered a tumour that required drastic intervention.
In a complex surgical procedure, the lower section of his spine was surgically removed, a decision that fundamentally changed his life. The aftermath of this surgery was incredibly challenging, as he had to relearn basic movements, including walking, while also adjusting to life with a stoma bag.

Reflecting on his journey, Matt shared, "Just over a year ago, while I was performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, I experienced excruciating pain in my leg. At first, I assumed it was due to a slipped or swollen disc, completely unaware of the far more serious condition that was affecting my body."
"I underwent an MRI scan, and when the results came back, I received the life-altering diagnosis of cancer. In that moment, a wave of uncertainty washed over me as I grappled with the terrifying thought of not knowing how much time I had left to live. Fortunately, I’m grateful to share that I’ve made a remarkable recovery."
