Josh Altman Reveals Why He Left Million Dollar Listing LA

In 2004, Josh Altman walked onto Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles. Season 4 was filming, and this competitive realtor fit right in. But now, where filming is concerned, Josh is hanging up his hat. Nothing is wrong. Instead, Josh has realized that time is fleeting, so his focus, for now, must shift.

Filming for MDLLA can wait, but one other area of Josh Altman’s life cannot

Josh and Heather spent almost two years questioning their next steps. Filming on MDLLA opened many doors for this couple. Likewise, Bravo heavily lined their pockets every year that these two showed up and showed out behind the lenses. But following Season 15, they announced their exit, as the Altmans now have two children, a daughter named Lexi, 7, and a son named Ace, 5, and as all parents know, babies sadly do not keep.

Parenting advice can be hit or miss. Yet, one friend made Josh realize that his current season of life would be over before he knew it. “You start hanging out with your friends who have older kids, and they go, ‘Spend the time with them now because, in a few years, they don’t wanna hang out with you anymore!’” Josh recalled. These words left their mark, and Josh began to realize that his priorities needed to shift.

“I would rather slow it down now, hang with them, and then when they’re teenagers and they want nothing to do with their parents, then I can go back to doing everything we had done,” Josh explained, adding, “It felt right. It didn’t feel right last year when we were thinking about doing it, but it did feel right this year.”

Josh and Heather are not retiring from their careers as realtors. He is only retiring from filming (and the drama within), which adds many hours to his already jam-packed schedule. Perhaps when their children are older, hiding in their rooms all day because their parents are uncool, Josh and Heather will return to Bravo. Until then, we wish them well.

Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles is streaming on Peacock.
