Joshua Jackson’s home in Topanga Canyon burned down over the weekend due to the disastrous Los Angeles fire. The actor’s representative recently confirmed the news to Deadline. The news outlet further reported that the “Dawson’s Creek” star released an emotional statement revealing the loss of his property, which he bought in 2001.
Just like thousands of individuals, actor Joshua Jackson also fell victim to the loss of his property in the catastrophic Palisades fire in LA. The actor announced the news in a statement to Deadline. He began the statement by giving an update on the people close to him: “First and most importantly, all the people closest to me affected by the fire are ok.” The actor then informed that his family members and neighbors also “made it out safely.”
However, Jackson revealed that his “beautiful home did not survive the fires.” The actor concluded the statement on a positive note, stating, “But today, I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the people I love.”
According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, a total of 40,306 acres have been burnt by the Palisades, Hurst, and Eaton fires. The department further reported that although assessments of damage for the Palisades and Eaton Fires are currently underway, more than 12,300 structures have currently been destroyed due to the fire. Out of the three active fires, the Palisades fire has caused significant damages as it has spread to over 23,000 acres of land with 13% containment. Firefighters are currently in a vital stage of their tireless battle against the devastating LA wildfires.
Apart from Joshua Jackson, many other celebrities lost their homes in the catastrophic fires in Los Angeles. The list includes Paris Hilton, Adam Brody, Leighton Meester, Milo Ventimiglia, and Tina Knowles, among others.
