The jazz singer posted an emotional video to her Instagram page in which she wrote in text over the top: "If you know us, you know we have been trying to adopt for a little while now."

The scenes then showed Joss on the phone to a lady at the adoption agency, who told her she could pick up her baby the next day.

They then broke the news to three-year-old Violet and two-year-old Shackleton before Joss filmed the happy parents off to collect their child.

She excitedly said: "We're going to get baby boy.

"We are going to come and see you for the very very very very first time.

"We can't wait, we are so excited

The video then captured them heading to the wrong hospital as Joss said: "We will find you baby Bear!"

The clip rounded off with an image showing Cody, 34, cuddling the tot before feeding him some milk.

Joss was seen rocking him to sleep before recording a message to their kids to introduce their new little sibling.

She then thanked all the nurses who looked after Bear, as well as his "tummy mummy" before showing him in his cot at home as she said: "This is Bear."

The Super Duper Love vocalist then detailed their latest parenthood journey in a lengthy caption as she put: "Happy mummy Mondays. This is what happened to us last Monday. We can not quite believe it.

"We are in love big time with this little guy. The reason why Cody even exists is because his bio mum loved him enough to make an adoption plan for him and the same goes for Bear.

"Honestly bio mothers do not get the gratitude they deserve. It is a more selfless love than I knew existed. Truly.

How does adoption work?

In the UK, there is lengthy process involved with adopting a child and it can take up to six months for the paperwork to be finalised.

To even be considered, you have to meet the following criteria:

  • You must be over 21
  • You must be a legal resident of the UK for at least 12 months.
  • No criminal convictions - especially any related to the endangerment of children. This applies to everyone your household.

You will also have to go through an inital background check and assesment, which will consider whether you are the right fit for adoption.

Potenital parents will also have undergo training and a process to match them with the right child.

"We are just so happy to be part of this beautiful cycle.

"Please share your story’s of adoption in the comments if you have any.

"And please welcome our gorgeous baby boy to this wonderful world xxxx"

BIRTH TRAUMA

Joss previously exclusively told The Sun of her birth trauma after her uterus split while giving birth to her second child.

It followed a tragic miscarriage the year before.

After explaining the ordeal, Joss told us at the time: "Being a mum is better than anything else in the world – you can take away all the jobs, the travelling, the songs… I don’t need any of that.

"Just give me my babies and I’m fine.

"I still want loads of kids, but I won’t be able to birth them naturally and would need a C-section, though my doctor said: 'If you were my wife, I wouldn’t let you.'

"But I’m still happy to adopt as many kids as I can. I don’t mind if I make them myself or not."
