Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler break up: model got cozy with Marcello Hernandez in September

Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber have officially called it quits after three years together. According to TMZ, the couple ended their relationship toward the end of 2024, and there's no "bad blood" between them as the relationship just ran its course.  The news comes months after the model was photographed getting close to Saturday Night Live star and Latino heartthrob Marcello Hernandez. 

The news might not be too surprising for eagle-eyed fans. There's been chatter online since September 2024 when photos of her and Cuban-American Hernandez were spotted getting cozy, dancing the night away. 

In photos posted to X on September 17, Gerber has her hands on him, with the comedian looking more than happy about the situation. In another photo, they are smiling at each other with their mouths just inches away from each other. 

A few days later, on September 25, the popular blind item social media account Deuxmoi shared texts from an eyewitness saying the comedian and model were "all over each other, ignoring everyone else at their table." They also alleged they went downstairs for 20 minutes. 

However, Gerber and Butler were later photographed walking hand in hand into Gracie Abrams’ concert in New York City on October 5. Elle reported that October was their last sighting together. 

Since then, more clues began to pile up. The Elvis star was notably missing from Gerber's family trip to Mexico for the New Year. People were also wondering why there weren't any sightings of them together on Golden Globes weekend. 

An end of an era 

Butler and Gerber have been one of Hollywood's hottest couples since their romance began in late 2021 after her split from Jacob Elordi. It was his first big relationship following his split with Vanessa Hudgens in January 2020.

Over the years, they made headlines for their sweet red carpet moments, including when Gerber supported Butler during his Elvis press tour. They even made their Met Gala debut together in 2022. 

Their age gap was also a topic of discussion. Butler was 30 when he started dating the 20-year-old. Time will tell what's next for the hot single A-Listers.
