Kaley Cuoco is tackling diaper changes and crime solving when she returns to our screens as Ava Barlett in Based on a True Story and the season two trailer, which we have below, is promising plenty of action.

Cuoco returns alongside her onscreen husband Chris Messina while trying to put their true crime obsession behind them. Ava and Nathan (Messina) are three months into parenthood with a new baby boy, Ava is getting back into work as a real estate agent and Nathan is training private tennis clients.
However, when a new slew of murders happen, Ava is pulled right back into trying to solve them. Is Matt (Tom Bateman) back to being the Westside Ripper? Does this mean Tory, Ava’s younger sister Tory (Liana Liberato) is in trouble due to her new relationship with Matt? Soon, danger comes knocking — literally.
When SheKnows spoke to Cuoco back in June, she was excited to get back to the show’s black comedy plot. “We just went back to work, and I am so excited to say that season two is going to deliver so much more of what made season one so special,” The Big Bang Theory alum told us exclusively.
“I love that you can’t define this show as one genre,” she added. “It makes for a very entertaining program and allows for us to have a lot of fun as actors!”
When does ‘Based on a True Story’ season 2 premiere?
Based on a True Story season two releases on Peacock on November 21. There will be eight 30-minute episodes in season two.
Writer and producer Annie Weisman, who replaced creator Craig Rosenberg as showrunner for season two spoke about the action we can expect in season two.
“I first discovered Based on a True Story as a fan of Kaley Cuoco and Chris Messina, and I instantly loved the show’s addictive blend of dark humor, pulpy action, and relatable characters,” she said in a statement. “In season two, we’ve built on those exciting themes while introducing propulsive new character dynamics and a forward-moving murder mystery.
