Just in time for the Christmas party season, UK high street favourite Karen Millen has launched an in-store rental service at Selfridges in London – as well as with John Lewis online - in partnership with rental provider HURR. Customers can rent a curated selection of clothing, from "event ready dresses" to luxurious tailored designs on HURR, with the option to purchase the rental styles should they get overly attached to them. Natasha Hackett, Marketing Director at Karen Millen, said: "We are thrilled to be working with HURR and two such iconic British retailers.
"We’re proud to have expanded our offerings to create a new way for customers to discover Karen Millen as well as an opportunity for customers to experience the product in real life in Selfridges." In September, as part of its global expansion plans, Boohoo Group-owned Karen Millen (acquired for £18.2 million in 2019), announced a new and exclusive wholesale and retail partnership with Indian premium fashion destination Coyu by Lyskraft.
The partnership is now live with an "aggressive store rollout" in the midst. Karen Millen will be available to shop in 50 Coyu stores due to open over the coming years across India. As reported last week, circular fashion platform HURR has teamed up with delivery company Deliveroo to offer a "luxury fashion rental service" that will deliver party dresses to customers in London in as little as 20 minutes, depending on availability (and festive season traffic). Deliveroo customers within Central London are now able to browse through a curated selection of more than 50 luxury and premium dresses from brands including 16 Arlington, Santa Brands, Self-Portrait, Nadine Merabi and Rixo (hopefully not pizza stained).
