Michael Sheen — 1995 to 2003
Beckinsale’s first public romance came in 1995 after meeting Michael Sheen in a touring production of “The Seagull.”
At the time, the British beauty told This Is London Magazine that Sheen instantaneously calmed her nerves despite being the “most outrageously talented person [she’d] ever met.”
While she and the Welsh actor never married, they welcomed daughter Lily Sheen in 1999 — their first and only child.
Sheen was Beckinsale’s fiercest defender during their eight-year relationship — once even punching her co-star for berating the then-postpartum actress.
However, they separated in 2003 shortly after filming wrapped on their movie “Underworld.”
Despite their split, the exes have remained on good terms for the sake of their daughter.
“I love Michael. Michael’s fantastic. It shouldn’t necessarily have gone on and on forever with us, but he is one of my absolutely favorite people ever,” she told the Wave Magazine in 2008.
“I think we both felt that it was really important for Lily, our daughter, to have everybody coming from the same place.”
Len Wiseman — 2004 to 2015
Beckinsale married her and Sheen’s “Underworld” director Len Wiseman one year after their split.
Despite rumors she left Sheen for Wiseman, the “Pearl Harbor” star has vehemently denied accusations of infidelity.
”The popular notion of how Michael and I broke up — that we were on [the first Underworld] and I ran off with the director [Wiseman] — is just not true,” she told Entertainment Weekly in 2012. “If that were the case, I think it would be very difficult and peculiar to have an okay situation.
“But everybody involved has felt that the priority is Lily and wanting to get to a good place for her,” she continued. “And everyone is nice. So it’s not bad.”
She and Wiseman worked on several projects together during their 11-year marriage before separating in 2015.
Despite their breakup, a source told People they were “still friendly” and often spent time together.
“There has been no drama. It’s just not Kate’s style. They have both had complicated schedules and have grown apart.”
Wiseman officially filed to end their marriage in 2016 but their divorce wasn’t finalized until 2019.
Matt Rife — 2017 and 2025
In June 2017, Beckinsale was spotted locking lips with comedian Matt Rife, who is 22 years her junior.
“Kate is enjoying her life,” a source told People at the time. “She is dating and having fun … She has been seeing Matt for the past few weeks. She really seems to like him. She refers to him as an old soul.”
It’s unclear exactly how long the pair dated as they kept the rest of their romance out of the public eye.
However, they seemingly split on contentious terms as Rife later told TMZ their relationship was “complicated” with “a lot of ups and downs.”
When asked about the actress’ then-romance with Pete Davidson, Rife rudely told the “Saturday Night Live” alum to “run.”
“Man to man? Run. Enjoy it while you can,” he told the outlet in 2019.
Despite their rocky split, the exes seemingly rekindled in January 2025.
At the time, a source spotted Beckinsale and Rife “being affectionate” at a Golden Globes afterparty.
However, we were told it was more romantic rather than a make-out session.
Jack Whitehall — 2018

Beckinsale was briefly linked to comedian Jack Whitehall in November 2018 after they were pictured kissing at a karaoke bar in Los Angeles.
The pair seemed smitten as they snuggled up in a corner booth following their dinner date at celeb-loved Craig’s in West Hollywood.
However, things fizzled out shortly after the PDA-packed outing.
Pete Davidson — 2019
A few months later, Beckinsale hit things off with Pete Davidson at a Golden Globes afterparty, where they were spotted chatting for nearly an hour.
“They were being very flirty together, they were sitting very close on the outside patio seating,” an eyewitness told us at the time. “Kate had her hand on his knee, and she kept laughing at all his jokes.”
The pair went public in February 2019 after leaving a comedy show hand-in-hand. The following month, they displayed their romance at a hockey game in New York City, famously kissing and cuddling inside the ice rink.
Davidson and Beckinsale seemingly fell hard, fast. The funnyman met her mother and stepfather after just two months together, joining the family on the anniversary of her dad’s death.
The “Bupkis” star even slammed critics of their 20-year age gap on an episode of “SNL,” noting that no one bats an eye when the genders are switched.
“Apparently, people have a crazy fascination with our age difference, but it doesn’t really bother us,” he said on Weekend Update. “But then again, I’m new to this. So if you have questions about a relationship with a big age difference, just ask Leonardo DiCaprio, Jason Statham, Michael Douglas, Richard Gere….”
However, the two ultimately decided they were better off as friends and split in April 2019.
Goody Grace — 2020
Beckinsale took a break from dating for a year before being linked to Canadian musician Goody Grace in April 2020.
“She has been dating him since the beginning of the year,” a source close to Beckinsale told People at the time. “They have fun and Kate seems happy. His age is not an issue for her. It’s just a number.”
The insider noted that the then-22-year-old was “mature beyond his age” and they were “quarantining together at Kate’s house.”
The two were often seen on walks and Grace posted a loved-up tribute for the actress’ birthday online, in which they exchanged “I love yous.”
However, breakup rumors swirled in October 2020 after Beckinsale unfollowed the rapper and deleted comments under his page.
Matt Atwater — 2023
Beckinsale was momentarily linked to actor Matt Atwater in April 2023 after being photographed together in New York City.
In the photos, Atwater wrapped an arm around the actress’ waist as they walked around the city streets.
However, it was later confirmed that there was “nothing romantic going on” between the two.
