Kate Middleton and Prince William share family photos with touching New Year message

1 week ago 14

Prince William and Kate Middleton have shared a carousel of sweet pictures as a difficult year comes to an end for the Royal family.

The pair's official X page posted a number of joyful photos from the past twelve months, including of the family laughing together in a field, and another on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with the King. This year has been a tough one for the family, after Kate was diagnosed with cancer in March, reports the Mirror.

One of the photos included a photograph from her first engagement back after cancer treatment, where she joined William to meet some of the survivors of the horrific Southport stabbings. Another picture was taken at Kate's beloved Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey earlier this month.

Alongside a tick next to 2024, the family's X account posted: "Happy New Year! Wishing you all a wonderful 2025." Despite their troubling year, several of the pictures nodded at some of their happiest moments from the year, including when William, Charlotte and George shared a selfie with Taylor Swift at Wembley.

Another was from back in January, when Prince William met Kevin Sinfield and Rob Burrow, as well as the MND campaigner's family. Today's post drew several comments from royal fans keeping an eye on the account.

One said: "Wishing a very happy and healthy New Year to my favourite little family. I truly hope 2025 will be a much better year and that our Princess will continue to get stronger and healthier everyday. I love you guys so much and I'm so ready to keep supporting you in 2025."

Another added: " Wishing you a very Happy healthy, happy and brilliant New Year. 2024 was a tough year but you stayed strong and I hope 2025 will be very positive for you."

The last twelve months - described by William as "brutal" - has seen the future Monarch forced to balanced his royal duties with his familial responsibilities, and while he has continued to with many of his landmark projects, his actions have made it clear his three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six will always remain his top priority.

Historian Tessa Dunlop told the Independent : "Naysayers who doubted William's mettle have been forced to rethink. The Prince of Wales is royalty's new rock.

"A reincarnation of his late grandmother, the steadfast anchor who changed it up with designer stubble when his wife was out of action, a woman's man who unambiguously declared 2024 more than brutal, in fact, the toughest year of his life.

"The nation fell in love with Diana’s firstborn all over again. We had forgotten how tall he is, and how comfortable he is in his own skin. So comfy even Trump couldn't bring himself to manhandle the future king on his pop-over to Paris.

"Without doubt, the rebirth of the Waleses as the country's number one couple has moved our monarchy into a new space. These days they appear to be a double act, even when apart."
